2017 Washington Youth Tour Teacher Application
Two South Carolina high school teachers will be selected to join high school juniors from across South Carolina on the 2017 Washington Youth Tour.
June 10-15, 2017
The Youth Tour is an all-expenses paid trip to our nation’s capital with 1,600 high school juniors from across the country.
To apply to be a chaperone, you must be a current high school teacher or guidance counselor. If you are selected, The South Carolina Electric Cooperatives will pay for your transportation, hotel room, exhibit admissions, and three meals per day for the week-long trip.

- For the safety of the students, official law enforcement background checks will be performed on all teachers and chaperones.
- Before submitting your application, please obtain your principal’s approval for your participation.
- This is a working trip with long hours. Each teacher/chaperone is expected to participate in every aspect of the tour and will have daily assignments and responsibilities for students.
- Two high school teachers will be selected among all statewide applicants. Notification will take place by Monday, February 13, 2017.
